Frequently asked questions

What is a New England Virtual Business Address?
A virtual business address is a real street address at a mail center or in a prestigious office building location like ours where you elect to receive your business mail and packages. It is not a PO box. Unfortunately, a post office box cannot be used to register your new business, nor can it be used to receive all your packages. Some organizations don't allow post office boxes to be used as an address.

A New England Virtual business address is a real street address and can serve as your company mailing address and as a business mailbox to receive all your mail. At your New England Virtual business address, all your postal mail is securely received at a professional office building. Your mail is handled by an actual person and not a virtual software. A professional person will open and scan your mail, discard unwanted or junk mail, email scanned copies of your mail, upload scanned copies to google shared drive or schedule a pickup if you live close by. We can also forward your mail.

We think you’ll agree that using your home address for your business could hurt your company image and slow your growth. Imagine instead having a virtual address, whether close to where you live, in another city or state, or even in another country, all the while continuing to work from home.

But isn’t that expensive? Not when you get an address with New England Virtual that starts at just $9.99 per month.

Learn more below about why having a virtual business address is so important and how New England Virtual makes it easy it is to set one up.

Why is a New England Virtual Business Address necessary?
People who run a home-based business or who want to expand their business presence into new markets need a virtual business address.

Running a business from home is a great way to save money, save time and get a new business off the ground. However, using your home address for your business doesn’t look as professional or offer the same privacy as having a separate virtual business address for your company. It is difficult to protect your privacy and your family when your home address is your business mailing address. Additionally, if you want to formally register your business or apply for a loan, your home address won’t work.

As a business grows, needs and objectives change. Many companies already have a business address and maybe their own office space, but they can’t afford to open offices in other cities, states or countries to expand their market presence. But with New England Virtual, they can afford to add a virtual business address and make it easy for customers to find and contact them in a new market.

With New England Virtual, you can add an address with just a click.

New England Virtual address is a real street address, unlike a USPS PO box, so you can use it to register your company and receive packages from UPS and FedEx. All mail is received and handled by professional staff at your virtual business mail address, not forwarded on to a central processing facility like some other companies do, which causes delays and requires your mail to be handled multiple times.

Mail forwarding to your home or far away is easy and transparent. We will share real time shipping prices for multiple carriers and levels of service, so you can choose the option that best meets your needs and budget.

How does a New England Virtual Address for business work?
After you sign up for a virtual address for business, you can use your new business address as your company address to register your business, list it on your website or business cards, and use it to securely receive your business mail. Our mail center location is a real street address at a professional office building primarily with executive business neighbors.

All mail is received, stored and handled at your virtual business address location, not forwarded to a central processing facility. Mailbox plans start at only $9.99 at including up to 30 pieces of received mail each month at no additional charge.

We will scan the outside of every piece of mail received, including the sender information, so you can easily identify every item. Then, we email scanned copies to you and or we can forward mail to any address. We will share real-time shipping prices for different carriers and levels of service, so you know exactly what each shipment will cost and when it will arrive. We will also upload scanned copies to a google shared drive.

If you want to discard unwanted mail, you have the option to request to discard it at no charge, or to shred it. If you live near your mailing address, you can schedule a pickup. We can even deposit a check received by mail.

The fees for scanning, shredding or picking up mail are posted under the Plan menu tab. We charge your credit card or PayPal account each month for your mailbox fee and whenever a specific requested mail task is completed. You receive an email notification whenever a charge is made.
